English 18th Century boarded elm desk box of rich colour and patination.  The front carved with floriate decoration of tulips and flowerheads also with owner's initials JH and date 1718.  The interior fitted with a partitioned trough to one end.  The interior lining paper is from the Stamford Mercury (Lincolnshire) newspaper of 1816.
